Long Tailed Tit

Long Tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus)

Long Tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus)

The long-tailed tit is a small bird easily recognised by its distinctive colouring, long tail and undulating flight. They are widespread and breed on Arran, mainly feeding on insects, but will occasionally eat seeds in winter. Their nests are held together with spider webs, camouflaged with lichen and lined with feathers.
