Osprey (Pandion Haliaetus) The osprey is a spectacular fish eating bird of prey with brown upper, white underneath and a six foot wingspan. It is an occasional passing migrant to Arran last sighted in Brodick Bay. They migrate to Africa in August/September arriving back in the UK in March/April. The nest is a heap of sticks, driftwood and seaweed built on rocky outcrops, in trees or on other suitable poles.
